bad odor outside of upright freezer, like Formaldehyde or something medical...yes freezer could be defrosted. several years back told that smell could be moist insulation in walls of fridge but this is upright freezer. freezer power has not been lost and seems to running very quietly and circulation around unit has not changed has been in same location for over three years. please advise

Can you please supply the model number of your freezer?

Is there any particular area that the smell is worse.

model 253 29711990 no it does not seem to smell more in any one location but then the smell is so strong that it is hard to tell. it is smelling up the hwole grage at this point.

Have you pull the freezer out and looked behind it to see it something may have built a nest.

There is nothing in the freezer that would cause a smell.
