Woke this morning to find zero in the freezer and 65 in fridge? What gives. Saw ice crystals through the grill in top of freezer where air is sent to fridge. Unplugged unit and sent heated air into freezer. Ice melted but when plugged back in still same problem. What gives???

It may be that you did not get all the frost melted.

Remove the back panel of the freezer and see.

The fridge is not going through the defrost cycle as it should.

Here is how to check to see what part you will have to replace.

To check the adaptive defrost control follow these instruction:

1. Make sure the compressor is running.

2. Unplug the fridge.

3. Open the fresh food door and remove any items on the top shelf.

4. Remove the light shield and the temperature control housing.

5. Using an insulated number 22 jumper wire short between L1 and test on the adaptive defrost control.

6. Plug the fridge back in.

7. The fridge should now be in the defrost cycle which will last about 23 minutes.

If the freezer defrosts then you will have to replace the adaptive defrost control.

If it does not defrost you either have a faulty defrost heater or defrost thermostat.

Here is a link to your fridge model MSD2756DEW.
