Freezer and ice maker work fine but the refrigerator freezes even at the lowest setting. This problem occurs aprox every 4 months. It will do this for a few days and then go to aprox 60* If the unit is unplugged for several days things will revert back to normal, help! During all this the freezer portion is normal. Thank you in advance.
yes it runs all the time freezes sodas. this time i pulled the power and after 24 hours i restored power and everything was back to normal????? now it will stay ok for aprox 2-3 months and then start again.
Well it happened again this time a lot faster. It runs all the time even so the frig part gets up to 60" with normal temps in the freezer. it did sound like the fan might be hitting some ice. I ddint have time to pull the back freezer panel off but it appeared by pushing on it there was some ice behind it. thanks. so does this sound like the timer?
You will need to pull off the back freezer panel and determine ice pattern. If fully frosted you have a defrost problem, partial frost=refrigeration problems.

but this time i pulled the back section of the freezer off and it was totally iced up blocking the air flow to the lower part. help is the the defrost timer or the temp control?
Probably a bad defrost thermostat or defrost timer, on this fridge, I would replace both. You can short out the defrost thermostat, turn timer to defrost, and verify defrost heater and wiring ok.
