We had a problem while we were away. Seems that the water filter leaked and flooded the house and sprayed the inside of the refrigerator according to the neighbor. Now the freezer works OK on the highest setting (5) but if I lower it Ice cream gets soft. The refrigerator section freezes food at the lower setting (1). Any help would be appreciated as the wife is bugging me.

You will need a good appliance repair guy to fix this. Make SURE he has service info as GE does NOT supply it. This fridge has the infamous mother board that likes to fail

I can't find a good repair guy within a 50 mile radius. Is there any test that I can do? If I replace this motherboard what is the approximate cost to buy it?

You may have damaged the thermister in fridge section or the damper door.

Just check your thermistors per the schematic shown. Also go to partselect to get assembly info.
