Unhappy Freezer ok but bottom warm
Brand: General Electric
Model Number: tbx16sasfrad
Age: More than 10 years

My refrigerator is freezing at the top. but won't get cold at the bottom. I defrost and it is not getting cold at the bottom. I noticed that the top was frozen and the drain hole iced up so i defrosted it and it is still frozen at the top but the bottom is not getting cold.

All the ice buildup will have to be defrosted before it will work right. Check your defrost timer. defrost heater and defrost thermostat.Refrigerator Repair Guide: How To Fix a Refrigerator - ACME HOW TO.com
Unstop the drain tube and pour hot water, clorox etc. to clear it out. make sure it drains fast enough to keep from freezing.

If what you describe is just an irregular frost pattern it is probably low on freon.
