Default Freezer Not getting cold enough
Brand: Amana
Model Number: SRD22S5W
Age: Please select

I pulled the back off the inside of the freezer and found the defrost thermostat with a block if Iced over it but the condinsor is clean. Would the problem be the defrost thermostat?
I have defrosted the Thermostat and it is starting to ice up agian.

I have a 12 yr old Amana Side x Side and the icemaker quite, ice looked like it was slowly melting. After reading about how they work I thought the Freezer might not be getting cold enough to let the icemaker work. I checked the temp on the Freezer and it is only going to 28-30, the refrigerator side is 38-42. I have the temp setting on the freezer to the coldest setting and the temp has not changing.
Thanks for the Help

Default

If the evaporator coils behind the back panel of the freezer are icing up because of auto defrost failure that will stop the circulation of cold air and eventually affect the freezer too.

check defrost timer, defrost heater, defrost thermostat
