Default Freezer is not freezing but refer is freezing
Brand: Kenmore
Model Number: don't know
Age: More than 10 years

My frezer is turned to the coldes setting, it freezes ice but other things like ice cream are soft, so I don't think it could be very cold.

The refrigerator is set to the warmest setting, yet it is freezing water solid.

What the heck could be wrong? I checked the dials to make sure I was not causing the problem by setting the freezer too warm of the refer too cold.

Default

You will have to put a thermometer in the freezer to find out what the temperature is.

Ice cream will not freeze as solid in a frost free fridge as it does in a deep freeze.

It will stay firm and spoon-able not hard.

Set the fridge to the normal settings and check the temperature after a couple of days.

The temperature in the freezer should be between 5 and -5 degrees Fahrenheit and the fridge should be between 42 and 37 degrees Fahrenheit.
