Default Freezer not freezing anymore.
Brand: Frigidaire
Model Number: FRT21H7ASB5
Age: 1 - 4 years

Hey, and thanks in advance for any help possible, this is a great site for help.

Yesterday morning, I opened the freezer door to notice that the once frozen food was no longer frozen but thawed. The fan at the back of the freezer still works and blows out somewhat cool air, and the freezer is still kinda cold, but not cold enough to freeze food. Moving the temperature dial to max (coldest) didn't help.

EDIT: I should also add that there's a new rumbling noise every now and then, I can't say I've heard this noise before until yesterday. It's hard to explain exactly what it sounds like, but i'm pretty sure its a new noise.

I'm not savvy in this kind of stuff, but is there anything I can personally look for that might be the culprit for this? Does this sound like an easy fix or something more serious (and costly)?

Default

I would start by checking the evaporator coils.

If the evaporator coils behind the back panel of the freezer are icing up because of auto defrost failure that will stop the circulation of cold air .

check defrost timer, defrost heater, defrost thermostat
