Unhappy Freezer leaking onto floor
Brand: Kenmore
Model Number: 795-75549401
Age: 1 - 4 years

We have a bottom freezer kenmore trio elite refrigerator which I believe is made by LG. Every 2 or 3 days a big sheet of ice forms in the floor of the freezer. It keeps building up and eventually leaks onto the floor. I can't tell if the ice maker is the problem or if it has something to do with the automatic defrost.
I haven't called a repairman yet because I figure it will cost an arm or a leg or whatever. Can anyone give me some advice? Thanks.

Default

Your drain tube must be stopped up with ice at the upper end because it drains too slow because it's stopped up at the lower end in the evaporator pan under the unit at the floor. It can get dust and mold in it. Once you get the ice out at the top a little air pressure will usually clear it out. Flush it out with hot water and clorox may help. Make sure it drains quick enough. The drain should be located below the evaporator coils on the lower back of the freezer or behind the back panel in the freezer.
