Default Freezer ices - refrigerator warm
Brand: Kenmore
Model Number: 36350232000
Age: 5 - 10 years

The freezer started icing over then the refrigerator stopped cooling, it is a 7 yr old side by side. Not sure if I should purchase and replace the defrost timer, heater or thermostat, or all three just to be safe.

I'll bet that just one of them is the problem. I would start with the timer then the heater and so on. Here's how to check. Refrigerator Repair Guide: How To Fix a Refrigerator - ACME HOW TO.com
