Default Freezer ice maker leaks!
Brand: General Electric
Model Number: unknown
Age: 5 - 10 years

Does anyone have an idea as to why my ice maker (on my GE side-by-side) would be leaking on the INSIDE of the freezer? It has a slow drip somewhere around where this little white hose comes in and attaches to the ice maker unit on the inside of the freezer. Is this a common occurrence with these units...especially with it being 10 years old? Do you know of any DIY replacement kits that I can handle this project? Hopefully it is fairly inexpensive fix! Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
Brian

The water inlet valve on the back of unit opens when the ice maker needs water. If the valve doesn't seal good because of sediment or wear it will continue to drip and when the water reaches the ice maker supply tube it will drip or freeze. You can take the tube off the valve and watch to see if it drips. Check water inlet valve here. Refrigerator Repair Guide: How to Check the Water Inlet Valve - ACME HOW TO.com
