Default Freezer has ice build up on bottom
Brand: General Electric
Model Number: profile performance
Age: 5 - 10 years

there is about an inch of ice that has formed on the bottom of the freezer. I m not sure if it is coming from ice maker. The ice maker constantly makes ice and does not shut off when full- this is another issue I would like to resolve
model number: TFX28PBBA BB

Your defrost drain tube is probably stopped up letting the water stay in the freezer and freeze. Remove the ice and find the drain tube at the back bottom under the evaporator coils in the freezer. Use some air pressure, oven baster etc. to clear the line and pour a bleach and water mixture through it to clean it out. It should drain quickly so it won't freeze again.

With your ice maker do you have the metal arm that shuts it off or is it an electric eye thing. With the arm there is a switch the arm depresses inside the cover. It can be adjusted to hit it sooner. With the eye make sure it's clean.

You'll have to take the end cover off and work the wire arm up and down to see it's action inside the ice maker. When you raise it up look for the switch it pushes.
