Default Freezer has frost and frig is warm
Brand: General Electric
Model Number: GSL25JFPH
Age: 1 - 4 years

my GE side by side is not cooling the fridge part properly. The coldest I can get it set on #9 is about 65 degrees. The freezer is set to #9 ,The fan in the freezer part runs. Nothing is blocked. There is very little airflow into the fridge. Please help me figure out. are there 2 fans. The back on the inside of the freezer has frost and I suspect the coils are frozen solid again. seems no air is flowing?

The fridge gets its cold air from the freezer through a vent between the freezer and fridge. There is a flap you adjust with the fridge temp. control. Make sure it opens and closes when you adjust the temp.

If the evaporator coils behind the back panel of the freezer are icing up because of auto defrost failure that will stop the circulation of cold air and eventually affect the freezer too.

In your unit they now have the adaptive defrost control instead of a timer. It senses when to defrost based on how many times and for how long the door is opened. It's more energy efficient but there does seem to be lots of problems with the board. Part 801 on this diagram. GSL25JFPH Parts List

woodchuck,
I'll check the defrost heated. But like you said the board may be bad.
Thank you.
