Tempature control on freezer side turned to the lowest tempature but compressor keeps running and will not stop. Tempature on freezer side is 15 F degrees. Also noted that the timer for the defrost cycle is not running but when you turn the freezer to off, this timer starts running. I believe the timer is supposed to constantly run 24 hours but when the comressor runs it shuts off. The question is would it be the temperature controller on the freezer side is bad so it cannot regulate the temperature and does the temperature controller control the timer?

The temperature control is faulty.

The way the timer is working is correct.

The only thing you will have to replace is the control.
