Default Freezer/Fridge Not working
Brand: Frigidaire
Model Number: FRS26H5ASBA
Age: 1 - 4 years

Refrigerator just stopped working. ice in ice bin started melting so i checked compressor and it seems to be running. i took the plate off inside the freezer side (side by side) and there was a big chunk of ice covering defrost thermostat and top of evaporator coils and defrost heater. i checked evaporator and ice forms over entire thing evenly. i think it might be the defrost heater or thermostat. is there an easy way to tell which one might be to blame?

Default Same Problem

I had the same problem happen to me today. My fridge is only 3 1/2 yrs old. It turned out to be the termination switch plus my fan motor needed to be fixed. It cost a bit to fix but we didn't want our food to spoil any longer that it had been. Good Luck.

Add the defrost timer to your list of things to check. Also ice buildup can block the evaporator fan and keep it from running. If timer is stuck in defrost the fan will not run.

see how to check all three here>>>
