Cool Freezer freezes rock Hard. Refrig freezes even on lowest settings
Brand: General Electric
Model Number: GSS25LGMA BB
Age: 5 - 10 years

This a side by side model. The refrig is set to its lowest setting and the freezer is set to one above the lowest setting. I have already replaced the thermostat control up by the light bulb on the refer side.
The freezer will freeze ice cream so hard it can't be scooped. Milk, soda, bottled water, and produce freeze in the refrig. This is an intermittent issue that only happens every 3-4 weeks. It is worse in the winter time. I keep the house at 65.

Your motherboard in the back controls the damper door motor. If the damper door allways stayes open you have a bad damper assy. pn wr49x10091.
Just disconnect the connector going to it and jam the door open half way.
This will prevent freezing untill you get the new damper door assy.
