Default Freezer doesn't run
Brand: Frigidaire
Model Number: FFC05K0AW1
Age: 1 - 4 years

Bought the freezer new in 2002. It stopped working in 2006. Just getting around to check it out. Had a freezer full of food when I noticed things were thawing out. The freezer was in an attached, but unheated garage. Temps can occassionally get down to freezing in the garage. Not sure if that is an issue.
I pulled the side panel off and applied power to the unit. It sounds (click) like it starts. After several seconds, I hear another click. It doesn't cool down. I suspect the capacitor (216696700) or the controller (216649304) is bad, but would like an expert opinion before buying parts.
I talked to a local repair guy and he suggested it's cheaper to throw them away (pd $169) then have them repaired.

thanks

You need a relay over load kit. If that doesn't start the compressor then you have a bad compressor
