Default Freezer - Compressor not working
Brand: General Electric
Model Number: PTS25LBMARWW
Age: 5 - 10 years

GE Profile Top Freezer/Bottom Refrigerator
5 years and 2 months old

I noticed approx 4 hours ago that the Freezer is not working, the Refrigerator appears to be working, with cold air coming from the vents inside... not sure how long this will last.

I removed the back bottom panel, and see the fan is working OK, The compressor does not appear to be on and all the lines are cool to warm, I put my hand on the compressor and cant feel any vibration or hear anything coming from it.

I dont see any switches anywhere, On the top back of the Refrigerator is a panel where the motherboard is located.

I dont know if this is a motherboard or compressor problem, Any help you can provide would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Nick

It is most likely the mother board.

There should be a technician sheet either in the control panel or behind the kick plate that will assist in testing the fridge.

Here is a link to your fridge model PTS25LBMARWW.

I know this is a real late reply, but I just wanted to let you know you were correct in your diagnosis, I did a few tests and found I was not getting any power to the compressor or relay.... I removed the motherboard in back of the frig and saw that it was fried... I replaced it with another GE board and it worked.

I greatly appreciate your help Sheila!

Forums are great!
