Unhappy Freezer cold fridge too warm
Brand: Jenn-Air
Model Number: UKF7002AXX
Age: 5 - 10 years

The freezer sounds like it's making a different lower tone sound. When I adjusted the temp to off, the sound stopped, so I thought we were having a problem with the freezer. However, we had 2 gallons of milk spoil over the past week.

- I turned the freezer and fridge cold setting to its highest - didn't help.
- I turned down the freezer setting and kept the fridge setting up - nothing!
- I have the sliding tab in the fridge set to cold and still nothing.

I'm not seeing the cold air pouring from the top of the fridge anymore.

Any advice? Please dummy proof this for me because I'm not familiar with locations of compressors, fans, control settings, etc.

Can you please supply your model number?

It sounds like the fridge is not defrosting.

Check in the freezer section behind the back panel and see if there is a frost build up on the coils.

With your model number I will be able to direct you more.

Model # UKF7002AXX. I can access these coils from the inside of the freezer? Is this panel up top?

Mir-

The number that you have given is for the water filter.

Please check your model number tag again.

The panel that you have to check behind is in the freezer section.

Hi

There is a very fine build up of frost on the top coils. So light that when I wipe with my finger it's already gone. Also, since the freezer was open I noticed it was defrosting by dripping water at the base. I let it defrost and wiped it dry then turned up the freezer again.
.
model # JSD2789GES

Is the fan in the freezer working?

Check and see if the damper between the fridge and freezer is opening.

There may be a problem with the control.

Here is a link to your fridge model JSD2789GES.

After I defrosted that thin bit of frost on the coils, there has been no change to the cooling of the fridge. I just dumped another gallon of spoiled milk.
Ideas? I might have to call someone for repair if I can't get this fixed soon.

Thanks-

Have you check to see if the fan is work and the damper between the fridge and freezer is opening?
