Default Freezer cold, Fridge at 58 degrees
Brand: KitchenAid
Model Number: KSRS25QAWH00
Age: More than 10 years

This Kitchenaide Superba side by side model has been in my basement for the last 2 months. It has worked fine up until this week.

I have vacuumed the bottom of the fridge of an incredible dust buildup, but this has not solved the problem.

I also notice that while the freezer side definitely has strong air flow, I am not getting any airflow from the vents in the fridge side.

The coils are not frozen.

Any input is appreciated. Thanks.

It sounds like the air flow may be cut of by an ice build up from the freezer not defrosting.

Look in the back of the freezer and remove the back panel.

If you find that there is frost all over the coils the defrost cycle is not working.

In the fridge section in the control panel locate the defrost timer.

With the compressor running turn the knob on the timer until the compressor shuts off.

The fridge will now be in the defrost cycle.

The defrost cycle will last about 25 minutes.

The frost on the coils in the freezer should clear.

If they clear turn the time knob again until the compressor starts up.

If the compressor starts up on its own you will still have to replace the timer if the coils defrosted.

If the coils did not defrost then you have to check the defrost heater and defrost thermostat.

With an ohm meter you should get about a 20 ohm reading.

Here is a link to your fridge model KSRS25QAWH00.
