So we were not vigilant on changing our filter this last time and have clearish white floaty things in the water coming out of the dispenser.

We have now changed the filter and run about 4 gallons of water through the new filter and the floaty things are still appearing.

Has anyone seen this before? Know what it is? Have a solution for us?

By your description that the particles float. They are most likely plastic.

Could be from the old filter. I would check the filter holder.

Cannot think of any other place that would produce plastic shavings but weird things do happen. I would try to find the cause ASAP, if it is something wearing or degrading in the system, you could end up with a flood
