Brand: Hotpoint
Model Number: HSS25GFPDWW
Age: 1 - 4 years

While thawing out a frozen water dispenser line (a big problem for GE/Hotpoint side by side refrigerators), I disassembled my water/ice dispenser panel and dispenser flap to get to the water dispenser spout. In the process of removing the ice funnel/flap (the thing that you press your glass into to dispense water and ice), a spring fell out. Now as I try to reassemble it, I don't know where the spring goes.

The GE drawing is no help, showing the spring (Part 74) but not where it goes. It looks like it might fit on one of the pivot pins for the funnel/flap but does not spring back to return the flap and turn off the water when you remove the glass. Has anyone had experience with this and can tell me where the spring goes? I'm stumped, and my wife is not pleased that she can't get ice anymore without opening the freezer. The water works, but I know from experience that it will freeze again in a few days.

Hello There, I hope you don't mind me asking you this question. I was doing a search on the internet and came across your post. I have the same refridgerator that you do. Hotpoint Model # HSS25GFPDWW. However, when I go online to Hotpoint they do not list this exact model number anywhere. I am trying to find a manual for it as we just got this fridge free from a neighbor. Everything seems to work fine right now with one exception. A black hose on the right side on the back has a tiny hole and is slowly dripping water. I'm trying to find out how I find the replace part when GE does not have the model listed on their website. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you for your time!

Thank you I have seen the diagram on part select.com. However, when I try to find the model on Hotpoint/GE; they do not have my model number. How can part select.com have the diagrams for it and the manufacturer not list this model on their website?

I looked at my refrigerator, and I think the part you need is WR17X11625 (shown as item 806 Plastic Tube) with WR17X Plastic Cover item 807 around it. This is the fill line for the icemaker. The two parts together should cost a little over $10, and it should be an easy repair. The diagrams and parts list for our refrigerator are as follows:

Parts for Appliance Model Number HSS25GFPDWW

Part Advantage :: Category Search

The Sealed Systems and Motherboard diagram on the second URL above shows the tube that you need. I'm sure that I saw these same diagrams on the GE website. All part websites for this refrigerator use the same diagrams. I hope this helps.
