the trough that catches the condensation to direct it to a tube keeps overflowing--the result is abuildup of ice on the freezer floor----ge suggested tha the tube might be clogged and suggested a baking soda solution "flush"---i've done it twice and still have a recurring problem---maybe i'm not flushing it properly or maybe it's a different problem---any suggestions?

You might have a buidup of debree in tube. I usually flush it out with a turkey baster and hot water. Just make sure it drains well when thawed out. The styrofoam insulation on these sometimes gets water soaked making the drain freeze more often. You can try wrapping a heavy gauge copper wire arond the defrost heater and down the drain. This will keep the drain from freezing. Only problem you may have trouble doing this on a GE, but you can try.
