Cool Evaporator fan not working.
Brand: Kenmore
Model Number: 596.58642891
Age: 1 - 4 years

Can you please help me? I just recently bought a 4 yr. old side-by-side. When I got it home I found out some maggots were in it. I cleaned it out, even cleaning behind the light panels and the cooler panel, where the knobs for the freezer and refrigerator are located. When I plug it in, I can hear it running and I can feel air coming out of the vent in the back, but the fan on the inside is not running. I took off the inside panel where the evaporator fan is and could not find anything unhooked, and the fan is not turning. Could I have possibly damaged something when I moved it? I made sure to keep it up right during the more.

You have an Amana refrigerator. These rout the evaporator fan thru the defrost thermostat. The evaporator fan will not run till the freezer gets below say 30 degrees.
