Default Evaporator Fan Motor?
Brand: Hotpoint
Model Number: HSS25GFPEWW
Age: 1 - 4 years

Having a problem with my refrigerator. It's a side-by-side refrigerator. Seems like the bottom of each side of the refrigerator/freezer is cold, but the top of each side is not that cold. The freezer is freezing things at the bottom. In the refrigerator, food at the bottom of the refrigerator is freezing up - food in the drawers. Also the icemaker at the top of the freezer is not working. No blockage with water though. Took the back wall off in the freezer and there was no ice build-up or frost. Did notice that the evaporator fan was not turning.

Would it be safe to assume that it's the evaporator fan motor? I've also read in another post with a similar problem that it was the motherboard. The water dispenser does work though.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Check to see if you are getting voltage to the motor.

The voltage that you will be getting is DC.

It should be 12 volts DC.

Here is a link to your fridge model HSS25GFPEWW.
