Default Evaporator Fan?
Brand: Kenmore
Model Number: 58642
Age: 5 - 10 years

My side by side stopped cooling, so I pulled the cover to find the freezer evaporator coil iced over. Thawed it, changed the defrost timer and everything was fine for three days when the coil was iced over again. Thawed it out but the evap fan is'nt running. could that be the problem. or the heater or the thermostat.
Does the thermostat control the heater or does the defrost timer?

thanks

Default

The timer controls the defrost circuit.

The thermostat and the heater are hooked in series.

Look at the wiring diagram it may give you the resistance values.

If the fan is not running this is another problem.
