Angry Evap fan is noisy, sounds like a car revving its engine
Brand: Hotpoint
Model Number: HTS22GBMARWW
Age: More than 10 years

I have a Hotpoint refrigerator that I have already changed the evap fan motor once, about 2 yrs ago. Every now and then, at least 2-3 times a day, the evap fan makes a loud whirring that sounds like it is speeding up and slowing down really fast. I replaced this motor once when I got this refrigerator. I've already put a new mother board and temp control in. The temp was always ok so I didn't think it would hurt anything to let the sound continue. Now the fan hasn't come on for a couple of days. I have purchased a new motor and am waiting for delivery. What should I do if the new motor does the same thing.

I would say that the problem is not the motor.

If the motor was speeding up and slowing down this would be caused by the mother board.

Now that the motor is not working at all that would tell me that it is not getting power.

Take the motor out and test it.

Here is a link to your fridge model HTS22GBMARWW.
