Default Door wont suck close anymore
Brand: General Electric
Model Number: 36'' monogram frig only
Age: 5 - 10 years

my GE monogram frig use to close and there would be a suction/vaccuum like action to keep door close. i think it was controlled by one of the 3 levers the door pushes against at the top of the unit . it no longer produces the suction at the time of closing, any ideas??
Thanks

Check the door hinge cam at the bottom hinge. I raises the door when you open it thus assisting and holding door in correct position when closing. It's plastic , black or white. Has a hole in it to fit on a pin on the hinge assembly. Post your model number. There may be pictures available and a diagram.

Mine was having this issue...it was a problem with the magnet at the base of the fridge where the door hits. The repair man had used a dolly to move the fridge out and he cracked the magnet in half. Half of it was on the floor underneath the fridge. When I fixed that the suction seemed to get stronger.
If your hinges are not off this is worth checking.
