Question Door seal not air-tight!!
Brand: Please select
Age: 5 - 10 years

The door seal on the freezer isn't air tight- all the cold air keeps escaping & my electricity bill is through the roof. I put tape on it as a stop gap measure but I need to fix this! I don't think I need to buy a whole new fridge, but what do I do??? Can I fix this?

Please help!

If the gasket is ripped or torn, or scrunched up in the corners you need to replace it. Tom ApplianceEducator.com

Also check the bottom front grill/vent plate...if you have had it off to clean underneath it may not be all the way on. Mine was off by just a little and it kept the door from closing all the way. Once I had it back on the suction was back and the door stayed closed.

Check your door cam riser to see if that plastic part is working. It raises the door up when open and assists in closing. It won't close good when not working. Post your model number to maybe see a picture.
