I just moved to a new apt and there was this fridge left for us to use. The ice maker works excellent but the dispenser on the door is not working. There is no sound at all when I try to dispense ice or water. The panel does not even light.

I checked the wires just to make sure everything was connected and it is.

So there is no light, no sound, and no dispensing and the wires are hooked up.

what can it be?

It could be the valve at the back of the fridge.

There are two coils on the valve one is for the water dispenser and the other is for the ice maker.

Can you please verify your model number as there are digit missing at the end?

The model number can be found in the fridge section on a tag with the serial number.

maytag msd2354ara is the model. would the valve in the back make diference with the ice not dispensing?

I'm sorry I miss read your question and took it as it would not dispense the water only.

If there is no power at the dispenser check the wires in the door for breaks.

If you have a meter it will be easier to check and see where you are loosing your power.

The wiring diagram is either on the back of the fridge or in an envelope.
