Default Diagnose optics in ice maker full switch
Brand: Whirlpool
Model Number: gc5shexnt
Age: 1 - 4 years

I am not getting ice into the ice maker. It appears as though water is geeting through the valve in the back of the fridg. My led is blinking and pausing, bliinking and pausing even when I move the switch form on to off. Is the board fried? How can I confirm that prior to purchasing a new one?

If you have a water dispenser does it work.

Because it's not getting cold enough?
Temp control defective ?
auto defrost not working
dirty condenser coils
bad door seals
bad door switch

If you recently adjusted the temperature control, loaded the refrigerator or are in a humid location, it is not uncommon for a refrigerator to run for 24 hours.

yes I am getting water to the front door of frezzer. I think it is either the emiter/reciever boards or the motor/control unit of the maker. How can one tell for sure w/out trial and error replacing parts?
