Default Defrost timer problem?
Brand: Amana
Model Number: ABB2224DEW
Age: 1 - 4 years

I am having trouble locating the defrost timer. Is it part of the control panel and not serviceable? The refrigerator sticks on defrost sometimes. It starts working normally after being unplugged for 2 hours.

Locate the kick plate in the front of the fridge under the drawer and remove it.

Look in and you should find the test procedure to determine what part of the defrost is not working.

Here is a link to your fridge model ABB2224DEW.

You have a "jazz" control board that's probably bad. Go to partselect and order it.
You can "toggle" between defrost and run by activating light switch 5 times in six seconds, then go back to run by repeating that.
Go to Appliance repairs, Appliancehelp, Appliances, repairs to dryers washers dishwashers fridges repairs microwaves ge maytag kenmore frigidaire westinghouse inglis, appliance how to take apart information, purchasing an appliance help, model number help, for futher info
