Default Defrost Timer
Brand: Maytag

Hello. We recently received instructions on how to test our defrost timer. The instructions said that once we turn off the defrost timer to test it, we should hear water dripping. We did the test and heard the water dripping. The instructions then told us we should have to manually turn the defrost timer back on after about 20 minutes. This was actually not the case. In less than 20 minutes the defrost timer turned back on itself and the fridge started working again.

Does this mean our problem is not the defrost timer? Does this mean our defrost timer is actually working?

Thank you so much for you help with this.

-Laura

If the fridge was not defrosting before it means that the timer may have gotten jammed and now it is free.

But this could happen again.
