Default Defrost system not working
Brand: Amana
Model Number: ARB2217CB
Age: 5 - 10 years

I have fast frost buildup over the condenser coils and on the inside back panel of the freezer and I believe that indicates that the defrost system is not working. I unplugged it for several days until everything was melted then the frost built up again. Am I correct to say that there are only three parts that can be broken:

1. defrost timer
2. defrost thermostat
3. defrost heater

Any help would be most appreciated.

Model number: RB2217CB
MFG part #: PARB2217CB0
Serial number: 10371772AN

Thanks you,

I got the same problem!! Mine frosts up VERY fast and I’ve replaced the heater and the thermostat already and debating on getting the timer but mine advances like it should. When my freezer goes on defrost, all of the frost is gone yet after 30 minutes… See my post for more info.
