How offen does a freezer defrost daily? It use to defost once now its doing it twice. It seems to run till if shuts off for the defrost cycle. It runs best to my knowledge all the time. We have replaced the condensor fan, defrost timer, defrost thermostat and the seals for both the doors. Temp for freezer is 18-20 refrigerator is 26 degrees

You have system problems with this. Either bad condensing fan, refrigerant leak,worn compressor, or clogged condensing coils.

My Amana refrigerator is 10 years old. Its a side/side. It defrost itself about 4 times a day, or more. At 8 am, 12pm, 4pm about 8 pm is that normal. Doesn't freeze ice cream. Its at its coldest level. Freezes water for ice. Everything else is okay only at coldest level. Is it the norm for so many defrosts daily? I've replaced all door seals, condensor fan, and thermosat......Grandma

The timer your parts list calls for, defrost 32 min. every 8 hours. Every four hours does seem like to much defrost. You could probably find one that would defrost every 12 hours if you wanted it.SCD25TW Parts List
