Default Dead icemaker.
Brand: General Electric
Model Number: TFX25JRYFWW
Age: 5 - 10 years

We have a side by side model TFX25JRYFWW with icemaker that didn't have water hooked up to it for several years. Hooked it up yesterday and the water dispenses from the door, but the icemaker doesn't work. No water enters the icemaker. I checked the power outlet inside the freezer for the icemaker and there is 110 volts between the white lead and the green, orange, ane brown leads. There is no voltage at the icemaker valve at the water inlet assembly. At the capacitor (Part number PS305007), there is a stepped up voltage of about 135 volts when the compressor is running at the white lead and never any voltage at the orange lead. I'm thinking this capacitor may be the problem but want to see what you think before ordering it. Would also like some idea how old this machine is.

The water inlet valve would just have voltage when the ice maker calls for water to fill the ice mold.Try swapping the wires which plug into the solenoid at the inlet valve.

This way the water dispenser should send water to the ice maker and you'll know if that side of the valve works and if the line is clear. When the water freezes it may dump the ice and continue cycling. If it doesn't , it's an ice maker problem.

Woodchuck, just hooked connector from water dispenser valve to icemaker valve and when water button in door is pushed water does enter icemaker. Does this mean one of the switches in icemaker is bad?

Woodchuck, water enters icemaker when water valve lead is switched to icemaker lead. Does this mean a bad switch in icemaker?

Well we know the water line and valve is not the problem. So it is with the ice maker apparently not sending the signal for water. Wait for the water to freeze to see if anything happens. Make sure the wire cutoff is all the way down. Here is a troubleshooting site. Ice Maker Diagnostic Guide: How To Fix an Ice Maker - ACME HOW TO.com
