Default Damper fan in freezer very loud
Brand: Frigidaire
Model Number: MRT18FNEW0
Age: 5 - 10 years

The fan at the back of the freezer sounds like an airplane. It's cavitating like crazy. The shaft doesn't appear to be bent, but I can't make the noise stop. The fridge is in the garage, and I can hear the fan from the master bedroom on the floor above!

Anyone have any ideas how to fix? Should I just replace the motor? If so, should I get a new fan blade, too?

Thanks!

The motor should be replaced.

The blade should be fine.

Here is a link to your fridge model MRT18FNEW0.

Here is your motor.
