Default Custom Cool drawer not functioning
Brand: General Electric
Model Number: PSS27NGNABB
Age: 1 - 4 years

Something is wrong with the Custom Cool drawer in my GE side-by-side. No matter what setting I put it on, the temp never moves. The fan in the back of the drawer doesn't come on anymore.

On the control panel, the ExpressThaw LED for 3.0 hours is always lit. I can make the LED go off by pushing the ExpressThaw button, but as soon as I close and re-open the door, it's back on. I assume this is some kind of diagnostic feature, but I can't find any info about it.

Where should I start troubleshooting? Thanks! Mike

It is likely a fault in the motherboard that is located in the back of the fridge.

There should be a technician sheet Either in the control panel in the fridge section or under the fridge behind the kick plate.

This will help you run a test on the fridge.

Check in your owners manual for the warranty on the electronic of the fridge before you attempt any repair so you don't void your warranty.

Here is a link to your fridge model PSS27NGNABB.

Sheila, all I could find under the fridge was a sheet labeled "SXS - 27 & 29 Dispenser Technical Data 200D2638P030." It had some electrical specs and schematics, but it didn't have any testing instructions. There was nothing behind the control panel in the fridge section. Any advise?

Check to see if you are getting power to the control.

Check the motor for continuity.

Sorry I don't have the test sheet on this fridge.
