Cool Crushed ice yes - cubed ice no
Brand: Frigidaire
Model Number: GS26HSZCC4
Age: 1 - 4 years

Regardless of which buttom I select I only get crushed ice and not ice cubes. I was asked to try shutting the fridge down for about 30 minutes and also applying a hair dryer to the sending unit neither of which worked.

Does anyone have any other suggestion or can tell me the specific part that needs to be replaced.?

Thanks for any and all assistance.

When you select cubed ice your crusher is staying in the crushed position. It is controlled by a solenoid. It could be stuck, not working, or other connecting parts have come loose.

Part 45 on this diagram is your solenoid. Observe to see if it's working when you try to get cubed ice. If is does check all the parts from there to the crusher to see if there all connected. Parts 48 47 46 and 41 Frigidaire Appliance GS26HSZCC4 Parts List

Thanks so much for your reply. I will check the existing solenoid assembly otherwise I will order new ones.

Very much appreciated.
