Question Correct air flow
Brand: Amana
Model Number: SSD22NBW
Age: 5 - 10 years

After installing a new freezer fan motor, need to know the correct air flow which depends on the way you place the fan blades in the shaft. Is the flow going upwards (buttom to top) or the opposite.
Thanks and regards.

You install the fan to blow air period. Installing backward will not blow air. End result will be air circulating in freezer and fridge.

I highly appreciate your reply on the subject but still have some doubts on the direction the air should flow in the freezer. Like ceiling fans, you can change the air flow to blow downwards or upwards.
I can place the fan blades in the position to blow upwards so pulling the air from the coil towards the ice maker, or in the opposite way so the air flows from the ice maker towards the coil and circulates around.
It gives me the impression that there is a sligh difference in the cooling process depending on the air flow.
Do you know of any specification on this matter?
Thanks again for your patience and kindness.
Regards.

For a freezer fan, you allways blow air into the freezer from the fan. If you install fan blade backwards you will suck air out of the refrigerator, and the cold control will not get the freezer air directly from the freezer=frozen fridg food.
