If the room is quiet, when you slowly turned the temp control colder, did you hear a "click"? This click would be the thermostat closing to bring on the compressor.
Did you also then hear the compressor start? If the compressor started normally, then you just need a temp control.
Or a "MMM-click" from the compressor area? Then 2 to 10 minutes later do you hear the same "MMM-click"? If so, you may need compressor start components (mounted on the compressor) or may need a compressor.
If none that, did you turn the temp control slowly warmer then slowly colder THEN hear any of the above listed noises? If The compressor started in a normal way as you turned the temp control then you just need a temp control.
Describe this "no fan-no nothing" - was there no fan circulating the cooling air inside the refrigerator? The fridge may have a "door" switch to stop the fan when the door is open. If not, then you may need a fan or a wiring problem to the fan, or blockage to the fan blade. |
