Question Cool but not cold enough
Brand: Maytag
Model Number: MTB1956GE
Age: 5 - 10 years

I've already had a Maytag tech replace the evaporator fan motor on this model which only cost $400 new and is now 5 years old. The repair was over $200 with parts and labor and I thought with the current problem I would try to use my handy skills to diagnose and fix myself. I noticed "laboring"noise coming from freezer and not long after that the freezer was not freezing anymore. Ordered another fan motor, took apart fan compartment in freeze and it was not the same part. I can not find the part that I took out of freezer and I don't even know if that is the problem part. Can anybody help me? I don't want to put alot of money into this refrigerator as it is a second unit we keep in the garage. Thanks!

What is the part number of the part you ordered?

Does the compressor run?

There are two different fan motors listed for your fridge.

You will need the serial number to determine which one is for your fridge.

You are missing one letter of your model number.

It is either a B a Q or a W.

This will give you your fridge parts break down.
