Default Condensation/Ice build up
Model Number: FRS26HF5AW3
Age: 5 - 10 years

I am getting condensation/ice build up on the exposed copper line that goes from compressor unit to the heat exchanger inside the refrigerator. See picture.

t is a problem because when drips/melts the water doesn't drip into the plastic evaporation pan, but onto the metal framing of the refrigerator. There is noticable corrosion forming.

Default Temps

Both the freezer and refrigerator compartment temps are within spec, -15C and +4C respectively. These temps are being achieved at the factory default temp adjustment settings.

Either your refrigerator has been overcharged with refrigerant, or your freezer temperatures are too cold,or partially iced up.
Pull freezer back panel and check.

Default Condensation/Ice build up

Will do.

(Did you look and the picture I supplied in the initial posting?)

I showed the picture to a guy in an appliance parts store and he said the compressor is working to hard which causes the line into run extra cold. He mentioned it could also be ice build up inside around the coils.

Your freezer should be running around 8 degrees farenheight and fridg around 35-40 degrees. If not set your controls for a warmer freezer.

Removed back panel in freezer compartment; no ice build up around coils. Raised temp in freezer 5F (-15C) and 40F (4C) in refrigerator. Ice still builds up on copper line from compressor, but has been reduced.

My plans are to wrap copper line with aluminum backed foam tape.
