I have a side by side refrigerator who has defrost problem, and called somebody to fix it, he changed defrost timer, and defrost terminator, it didn't work ( well worked for 1 week, then it stop defrost again), I tried to turn it on for 2 days and turn if off during the night to defrost the refrigerator( I use the temperature control knob to this), after one month, the refrigerator stopped cooling, the light and fan are still running when I turn it on, but the coil will not become cold, please help me here, which part is broken, the temperature control? thank you thank you

Check the defrost timer and see if it got stuck in the defrost cycle.

Turn the button in the center of the timer slowly until you here a click.

If the fridge starts back up the timer got stuck.

Did the service man change the heater?

Here is a link to your fridge model ED5GTNXMQ00.

the heater was tested before, it was ok.
when I turn on the fridge, you can hear a click in the compressor, it turned on, then another click , it turned off, is thermometer's problem?

It sound like the overload or the compressor.

The thermostat would not cause that kind of problem.

I changed the relay of the comprssor, it started now, and I am just wondering if this problem cause the defrost problem also.

In the beginning, the refrigerator start with the defrost problem, and we changed the defrost timer and defrost thermostat, and it was working for obe week, then it stop defrost again, and later the compressor failed to start.

My thinking is that probably that the compressor control was gone bad, it will not let heater to kick in, and it continue to run without stop

Please tell me if I am right or wrong, and I let the refrigerator running right now, it's too early to say it will defrost.

The relay is just use to start the compressor.

After the compressor is running the relay is not in the circuit until it has to start again.

Just a coincidences that it went after the defrost problem.
