Unhappy Compact fridge is freezing
Brand: Jenn-Air
Model Number: JUC2450ARS
Age: 1 - 4 years

My compact under-counter all-fridge is freezing.

As soon as the temperature control dial at the bottom of the fridge is moved beyond 1, the compressor starts, and the temperature drops to the point where anything remotely close to the coil at the back freezes solid.

Until a week ago, the fridge worked fine.

Help?

You may have a faulty thermistor or control.

Check the resistance of the thermistor?

You will have to know the temperature of the fridge to know if the thermistor is reading correctly.

When you check the resistance send me the temperature and the resistance reading that you get.

Here is a link to your fridge model JUC2450ARS.

I think I am having exactly the same problem. Is the thermistor part of the control assy (your part #: PS797724)? In my case, removing the grille which releases the plunger switch (part #: PS797680) does not turn off the compressor. Is that correct? I hope the control assy is the only part I may need. TIA.
