Unhappy Cold Water Dispenser Problem
Brand: Magic Chef
Model Number: MSD2454GR
Age: 5 - 10 years

Have Maytag Side By side with Ice and Water Dispenser. Everything works -- no leaks. Problem is that water dispenser sometimes dispenses "warm water". Looked at parts listing and noticed new double outlet water valve kit which replaces sometimes "problematic Y" connector. It is intended for use with some refrigerators. Do I need to replace the original valve with the new part #PS46363? Thanks for your help. Refrigerator is about five years old.

The valve will not eliminate the problem of warm water.

All the water valve does it let water in to the fridge.

If you do not dispense water for a long period of time or are using a lot of water it is possible for the water to be warm.

The holding reservoir is in the fridge section.

The water line then runs under the fridge and through the door so the water in the line will be warm.

Smile Cold Water Dispenser Problem

Thanks for the explanation. Guess I will have to learn to let water flow before using it. Was hoping that this could be remedied but seems like it is a design issue.redface:
