Default Coils Are Freezing up! Can't figure out the problem!!!
Brand: General Electric
Model Number: GTS22WCMBRWW
Age: 1 - 4 years

I figure it could be one of three things wrong: thermostat, heating element, or control board.

THERMOSTAT:
I thought maybe it was the thermostat so I ordered a new one. When I took the old one off, I was getting continuity (and still am), so I am thinking that this is not the problem.

HEATING ELEMENT:
I took the heater out and verified continuity successfully. Then set my meter ohm setting at "200". I was getting readings of about 31.8 or so. Now, I'm thinking this can't be the problem either. After all, how in the word can this stupid heater go bad? It's just a piece of wire coiled up.

CONTROL BOARD:
Well..I don't know how to test this. I checked amperage with my meter for the leads to the defroster and it measured zero, but then again maybe it wasn't suppose to be calling for defrost at the time I checked it??

CAN ANYONE PLEASE HELP ME??!! I just don't know where in the world to go from here.
