Default Clean Icemaker Optics?
Brand: Kenmore
Model Number: 106.53359300
Age: 5 - 10 years

Hi-
After running through the steps I have what appears to be an optics problem with my icemaker. I do get a few cubes every once in a while. Enough to keep me hopeful. One of the solutions offered in the troubleshooting is to clean/defrost the optics. I'd like to try this before I replace. How does one do clean/defrost the optics
Thanks for your time,
Pat

There should be two to clean, opposite each other. Use a soft non-abrasive cloth damp with water, windex, or eye glass cleaner.

Default Optics

The optics are inset and I am wondering if you have a suggestion on how to reach them for cleaning?

Would a Q-Tip work or twist a small corner of a hankie.
