compressor works ok.

evaporator coil freezes.

evaporator fan works only if i disconnect it and hot wire it. then it runs good.

timer seems ok. i advance it until it turns off compressor then ticks about 15 min

and then compressor comes on again.

i can't find defrost heater to check it.

If the fridge is defrosting there is nothing wrong with the heater.

Check the wiring from the door switch.

The defrost heater is behind the panel in the freezer on the evaporator coil.
