Cam Riser
Brand:
General Electric
Model Number:
GSS25SGMDBS
Age:
5 - 10 years
Does anybody know if I have to remove the door of the refrigerator to install a new cam riser? Mine split in half and seems to be grinding metal on metal.

Just keep the door shut and maybe wedge something between the door and floor. The magnet in the door gasket will hold it in the right position.

Is this to replace the cam riser or just to keep in place for the time being?

Replacing the cam. Don't open the door till you finish. You can take the hinge pin off and it will hold it's position till you reassemble it.
